Struggling with 'the new normal"

Summer is usually a slower time for me, but this month has been anything but. A major project at work, a family wedding, a cycling competition, helping my brother fix up and move into his first home, getting ready to start a graduate program in three weeks (yikes!), and just staying on top of everyday commitments. It’s all been a little overwhelming and is starting to take a toll.

While some of these projects will be wrapping up in the next couple of weeks, new ones will begin. I can’t help but feel like this way of living is "the new normal” and I’m still working to find a way to get it all done. As you may have heard me announce recently on Mac Power Users, I’m returning to graduate school part-time in the Fall to obtain a specialization in my field. On top of my regular commits (family, work, podcasting, etc.), I’m told to expect this will add about eight hours of classroom time and 20 hours of personal study time to my weekly routine.

I know I’ve been lax in responding to email, my blog posts have become sparse. I do have several new ideas in my growing list of post topics - I just haven’t had time to write them up. Hang in there with me, I’ll get this new schedule figured out…
