As David and I mentioned on a previous episode of Mac Power Users, version 2.0 of TextExpander touch is now live in the AppStore. The App costs $4.99 or is a free upgrade for all current users. The big feature for the update is it adds support for fill-in snippets on iOS. This includes text fields, multiple choice popups and optional selections that I’ve become some accustomed to using in the Mac version. Other enhancements include formatted text snippets and improvements to Dropbox sync.
Developers will need to update their Apps to take advantage of the fill-in snippets. Smile has released an updated SDK. Currently more than 150 apps (including several of my favorites like Byword, OmniFocus, Drafts and Day One) support TextExpander integration and I can’t wait until developers release updates to support fill-in snippets.
