When Jean MacDonald launched the App Camp For Girls fundraising campaign last summer she had a goal of raising $50,000 to support a single summer camp in Portland. Turns out, so many people loved the idea of App Camp that the Indiegogo funding goal was reached in only 3 days and the team set their sights on bigger things. They decided if they could reach $100,000 in funding they could bring the camp to a second location. Sure enough, the community rallied and App Camp For Girls raised $106,328.00
Making good on the promise, the crew has announced they their second camp location - Seattle!
We are pleased to announce the second App Camp For Girls location: Seattle! Our Seattle team has been busy making arrangements, and we are now ready to announce the dates and to accept applications from Seattle-area girls.
The Seattle Camp will take place August 4–8, 2014 and is open to Seattle-area girls currently in 7th or 8th grade. They will receive more applications than spots and the deadline to apply is April 28 at midnight. Visit the App Camp For Girls site for more information. App camp for girls is also holding two sessions in Portland this summer, July 14–18 and August 18 –22 however those sessions are now full.
