All good things must come to an end. 1Password announced today that support for version 3 of its iPhone and iPad apps will no longer support Dropbox sync effective September 1st. This is due to changes that Dropbox is making to its sync API to increase security. There's a full explination and FAQ on the 1Password blog I suggest anyone impacted read.
The good news is 1Password has already incorporated these changes into version 4 of the iOS App along with other significant updates and improvements.
Although version 3 of the iOS app has been "end of life" and removed from sale for more than 6 months, there are some users who have not yet upgraded to version 4 and thus will find themselves without the ability to sync via Dropbox in the near future. To ease the pain of the transition, AgileBits has put 1Password 4 for iOS on sale for $7.99, more than 50% off the regular price for a limited time. If you haven't yet upgraded, now is the time.
Do not be confused with the Mac App. 1Password Version 4 for Mac is currently in Beta testing and will be released later this year. Users who buy 1Password 3 for Mac via the Mac App Store will receive a free upgrade to version 4 when it becomes available.
