I’ve become a big fan of the MOS line of products. I reviewed their original MOS Organizer cable management system back in 2014 and still keep the sam organizer on my desk today organizing loose cables.
Just this week I received my MOS Reach power adapter I ordered from Kickstarter last summer. While it may seem like an odd location, I’m keeping my Reach in my laundry room and have it plugged into the outlet behind my appliances and the magnetic Reach stays securely on top of my dryer. The two USB outlets allows me to create a little “charging hub” in my laundry room (conveniently located next to the back door where people tend to walk in and drop their stuff) as well as provide an extension for an otherwise unreachable power outlet for chores such as vacuuming or ironing.
This week MOS announced a new product, the Reach Go, a portable power bank that aims to charge all your devices. The Reach Go features both USB C and USB 3 connections. This allows you to charge new USB C equipped laptops, such as the new MacBook, at full speed as well as your standard USB devices such as iPhones and iPads. The Reach offers more than charging, when paired with a USB C equipped laptop it will also act as a USB hub.
The Reach Go is a 15,000 mAh battery which MOS says will charge the new MacBook up to 3 times. (By comparison an iPhone 6 has a 1810 mAh battery.) MOS appears to pack all this power in a fairly slim form factor that should be easy enough to slip in a bag.
MOS is expecting a release date in October 2015 and is currently allowing those interested in the Go to sign up for more information on their web site.
