David Sparks and I launched Mac Power Users on May 5, 2009 with an epic discussion All About Email. The show has surpassed all of our wildest dreams and every day I am humbled and honored by the response. One thing that has always made MPU special has been the interaction with our audience. I’ve long said we’ve have the smartest audience in podcasting. Each week we receive hundreds of emails and tweets with questions, tips, feedback and great ideas. We’ve had an opportunity to showcase a few of our listeners in episodes 100 and 150 and in our various feedback shows and segments. But we want to do more.
David and I have decided it’s time to do something new for Mac Power Users. We’re adding one additional show a month, focused on our listeners. The show will record live on 5by5 the first Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. Eastern. It will give us the opportunity to answer questions, share tips and invite listeners to share their workflows on a more regular basis. We’ve always wanted to engage more with our audience, and hope this additional show will give us the opportunity.
We’re still working out some of the technicalities, but the show will be distributed as part of the regular MPU feed (RSS) and (iTunes) and will be released as a podcast mid-week following the live show. (The delay is to allow for editing, shownotes and a buffer between our regular show.) The regular show sill still be released each Monday morning as usual. For the new show we’ll be pulling content from our listener feedback and audio comments are encouraged. Send your questions, tips and workflows to email@example.com, keep it short and sweet and we’ll do our best to include them as a part of the show.
I’m very excited about this new addition to our show and I hope you’ll join us for our first live show on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. Eastern.
