I’ve written about SnapPower products before on this site. I was very excited about the concept as it’s an easy ways for people to add additional functionality, either lights, or USB power to their wall outlets. This is great for renters or people who aren’t comfortable wiring an outlet.
Rather than requiring additional wiring, SnapPower products are easy to install outlet covers. The covers have protruding prongs that extracts power from the outlets for lights or USB ports. I have several SnapPower products installed in my home and have given several more as gifts. In my experience, their LED light products work great while the USB power products have been a little more troublesome.
Recently, SnapPower introduced the SwitchLight, a cover for a standard light switch that adds an adjustable LED light. I previously installed their GuideLight in the outlet in my guest bathroom and found a spot for the SwitchLight in a dark hallway. The lights automatically activate when dark and are nice for children or guests to find their way at night.
The SwitchLight is available in a number of colors and in standard and contemporary styling for $17.00 each with multi-packs available. However, it’s currently only available in a single switch configuration. Most of the switches in my home are double or triple switches which was a consideration when determining where to install it. If you have a similar problem, the GuideLight, which is designed to work with electrical sockets might be a better fit.
